After the presentation of the colors UWF music student Easton Ellenberg performed Edward MacDowell's March Wind to a standing room crowd at the UWF Commons Auditorium. It was the opening act to UWF President Dr. Judy Bense's 2014 state of the University speech.
Repeating its support of President Judy Bense, the University Of West Florida Board Of Trustees Monday passed a resolution to counter a no-confidence vote taken on Friday. WUWF’s Dave Dunwoody was at the emergency session.
The resolution passed with only two dissenting votes after a more than hour-long closed-door session to discuss the opposing vote submitted Friday by the UWF Faculty Senate – which followed the Trustees’ vote of confidence earlier this month.

The University of West Florida and Pensacola State College have announced an agreement to make getting a bachelor's degree easier on the panhandle.
Dr. Judy Bense, President of the University of West Florida was at Pensacola State College Monday morning to sign a new partnership agreement between to two schools. The program is called PSC -2- UWF...and it makes it much easier for a student to transfer from Pensacola State to the university to complete a bachelor's degree.
This fall, the University of West Florida will be begin offering a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. They will also be offering a Masters designed for business people who will be cyber security managers, as well as three cyber security certificates. “Building a Case Against Domestic Violence” is the theme of a two-day conference Monday and Tuesday at the University of West Florida Conference Center.
Sponsored by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the annual meeting is open to law enforcement officers and other first responders, social workers and victims’ advocates. It’s aimed at promoting prevention, enforcement, and access to resources.
