There was a familiar sight in the air over El Centro, California on Saturday as the Blue Angels, the Navy's flight demonstration team began the 2014 season before a crowd of over 30,000. After spending most of 2013 on the ground, the Blue Angels made it back in the air this past weekend to start the 2014 show schedule. 

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s proposed cuts to the Pentagon’s budget is aimed at reshaping the military post-Afghanistan. Many are taking a wait and see approach, while some lawmakers are gearing up to fight it.

This is the first such spending plan to fully reflect the end of the combat mission in Afghanistan, and the transition from the last 13 years of war – the longest conflict in U.S. history.

Two people were injured this Monday morning in an air training crash on one of the runways at Sherman Field aboard Pensacola Naval Air Station.   The crash, involving a Navy T-45, occurred around 10:30 during a routine training flight. The two crew members onboard were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
