Cong. Jeff Miller

Outgoing Cong. Jeff Miller appeared Monday with Donald Trump in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as the presumptive Republican nominee outlined a ten-point plan to improve the Veterans Administration.

One question being asked is: what's in it for Miller?

Six months after the problems were highlighted, there’s a plan to fix the mold and water issues at the U-S Courthouse in downtown Pensacola.

U-S District Judge Casey Rodgers says black mold has plagued the facility – and the workers inside – since it opened in 1997. Court staff, the U-S Marshal’s and Attorneys offices, and Sen. Marco Rubio’s staff were forced to re-locate to the nearby Winston E. Arnow Building and elsewhere downtown.

Three months after first announcing he was considering a run for the U. S. Senate, Congressman Jeff Miller has made his final decision.

Miller is dropping his Senate bid and instead, will seek an 8th full term in the House next year. In an email statement, he said he wants to focus on trying to reform the Department of Veterans Affairs. He also cited passage of his VA Accountability Act in the House, and its possible veto by President Obama.

Congressman Jeff Miller and Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Jon Greenert spoke to the media aboard NAS Pensacola Tuesday. But the star of the show was moored nearby at Pier Charlie.

The USS Independence is the test ship for the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) mine countermeasure mission package. The testing has been underway in the Gulf of Mexico since late February. She’s 418 ft. long and carries a 40-member crew. Admiral Greenert says her strengths are high speed, great volume, and being modular.

Bernardo de Galvez , the Spanish general who defeated the British at the Battle of Pensacola in 1781, becomes a permanent part of the T.T. Wentworth Florida State Museum on Thursday.

Congressman Jeff Miller will present a Nina Fritz portrait of Galvez to the museum, which itself sits near the battle site in downtown Pensacola. Last summer, he took to the House floor to urge passage of House Joint Resolution 105, granting Galvez honorary American citizenship.
