A Brief
History While the
University
of West
Florida has
provided
programming
for Cox
Cable
Channel 4 in
Escambia
County for
many years,
it was not
until 2003
that the
station
officially
became WUWF
Television. Originally
housed in
Building 36
across the
UWF campus,
the station
was moved to
Building 88
last year,
to be
completely
integrated
into the new
design and
concept of
WUWF Public
Media.
What We
Do The station
produces a
variety of
shows
locally, and
carries
programming
from The
Florida
Channel,
Deutsche
Welle (news
and features
produced in
Germany) and
the Classic
Arts
Showcase.
We also air
County
Commission
Meetings,
School Board
Meetings,
and other
government
activities
of interest
to the
residents of
Escambia
County. WUWF
TV is also a
Public
Access
channel,
with the
last
Saturday of
each month
dedicated to
airing
programs
hosted or
sponsored by
residents of
Escambia
County.
Ever
changing,
WUWF TV is
once again
revising and
improving
our
programming
offerings,
while at the
same time,
preparing
for the
advent of
new
technology,
which will
allow us to
deliver
video to you
on demand.
We invite
you to check
back with us
often to
follow our
progress,
and to take
advantage of
all the WUWF
TV will have
to offer in
the future.
For the
present, we
invite
Escambia
County
residents to
tune in to
Cox Cable
channel
4. If you’re
outside
Escambia, or
don’t have
Cox service,
we’ve got
you
covered!
