"How
Can
I
Keep
From
Singing?"
a
moving
radio
documentary
on
the
great
American
folk
singer
and
activist,
Pete
Seeger.
The
finale
of
the
3-part
series
will
be
broadcast
during
Acoustic
Interlude
at
3:00
p.m.
on Sunday,
July
27th.
Part
Three,
"Topical
and
Protest
Songs,"
is
the
most
controversial
segment
of
the
series.
Labeled
as a
Communist,
Seeger
lost
his
recording
contracts
and
was
banned
from
radio
and
TV.
He
then
took
his
music
directly
to
the
people,
playing
at
protest
rallies
against
McCarthyism
and
the
Anti-Communist
hysteria.
He
also
became
heavily
involved
in
the
Civil
Rights
Movement
and
later
became
a
key
voice
against
the
Vietnam
War.
