Songwriters Ellis Paul, Buddy Mondlock, and Tom Feldmann

Neale Eckstein

Join us for WUWF's long running live music program, broadcast each month from Historic Pensacola Village. On August 7, host Pat Crawford welcomes Ellis Paul, Buddy Mondlock, and Tom Feldmann.

Ellis Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting and one of the top songwriters to emerge out of the fertile Boston folk scene. He helped create a movement that revitalized the national acoustic circuit with an urban, literate, folk rock style that helped renew interest in the genre in the 90's. "I need to keep feeling refreshed.

Always candid about his career, he said, "I've been down the Ellis Paul rabbit-hole, you know, and now I'm looking around and trying to learn new things, experience other people's music and stories. I have no idea where I'm headed, but I think it'll make me a broader artist."

Buddy Mondlock

Buddy Mondlock writes songs. He does it so well that some great songwriters have recorded his
songs on their own albums. Guy Clark, Nanci th, and Janis Ian, to name just a few. You ve
heard his song “The Kid” (recorded by David Wilcox, Peter, Paul and Mary and Cry, Cry, Cry) and
maybe even sung it yourself around a campfire.

Along with his concerts Buddy teaches songwriting workshops as well. In 2012 he was on staff at the Swannanoa Gathering at Warren Wilson college in North Carolina teaching two intensive courses over a s time. And in 2013 Buddy returned once again to the Kerrville Folk Festival to perform and teach.
