Raised in Ruffin, North Carolina, it’s only fitting that Nikki Talley's music is as eclectic as her home state. Critics and reviewers have compared her to Patty Loveless and Gillian Welch. Her fiery stage performance, haunting and raw lyrics, lifted by a voice that harkens back to her Appalachian roots, shores up on the edges of contemporary country, folk, and Americana.
In the past 2 years, Nikki and her husband Jason Sharp, have played 200+ shows in over 20 states touring out of their Chevy van, Blue Bell, they bought with funds raised from a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The Believers, Craig Aspen and Cynthia Frazzini, met at the now famed Sunset Tavern in Seattle several years ago and began a serious love affair with old school Country, Soul and Roots music. Since then they have explored the musical cultures of their adopted home towns of New Orleans and Nashville. As a result, they play a unique blend of styles from rock to country to zydeco.
The Believers have toured The US, UK, and Europe and have released three albums. When asked to describe their music, Craig and Cynthia don’t miss a beat saying, “We’re a rock band with a country problem.” Britain’s Rock n Reel Magazine recently wrote that The Believers are “What Johnny and June might’ve sounded like if they’d jammed with The White Stripes.”
Folk-Roots artist Grant Peeples is known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes as well as Roger Miller type humor and heart shattering ballads. Songwriting legend Bobby Braddock described him “like John Prine, but with a Southern bent.” Music News Nashville called him “a guitar-slinging poet.”
Peeples tours have included performances at The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, OK, The Living Room in New York City, and The Triple Door in Seattle. His records, produced by Gurf Morlix, have topped the folk-roots charts in the US and in Europe.
