Additionally, Harper says there was a better than expected jobs report for the month of October. There was an increase of just over 200,000 jobs. On a related front, the unemployment rose slightly two-tenths of one percent. And, Janet Yellen, President Obama’s nominee to become the next Federal Reserve chairman testifies before the Senate Banking Committee. Yellen told the panel that the economy has regained ground lost to the Great Recession, but with unemployment at 7.3 percent the Fed’s support still will be needed.
