If you see Jerrod Vunovich on TV, chances are he won't look anything like his picture here. That picture was taken this weekend at Pensacon where Jerrod sat on a panel with other actors from the AMC series The Walking Dead. Vunovich has a recurring role as one of the zombies, or walkers on the show.
The 6' 3" actor from Pensacola says he got on the show by answering an internet casting call looking for actors who were "deathly skinny". He was contacted the next day and invited to attend AMC's "Zombie School" which led to being cast as a recurring role as a walker.
If you are familiar with the show you know that the walkers are pretty disposable characters. Since he has played multiple walkers on the show, Jerrod has lost track of how many times he's been killed on camera.
Jerrod has a few other acting credits on that resume. He appeared as a bat boy in the Jackie Robinson bio-flick "42"and he was one of the first tributes killed in The Hunger Games - Catching Fire. But it's his recurring role on The Walking dead that has kept him in busy and in front of the fans. He hasn't kept up with all the coming and going on the changing cast.
The 20 year old graduate of the West Florida High School of Advanced Technology has plans to continue acting as well as continuing his education. He's currently attending Pensacola State College and hopes to transfer to the University of West Florida to complete a degree in civil engineering. He also hopes to get the call and be invited back to put the make-up on for season 5 of The Walking Dead next year.
