Jobs seekers and employers will get a chance to mingle Friday at the 7th annual Community Job Fair at Pensacola State College. "I think everybody should show up dressed to impress, bring their resumes and be prepared for some employers to conduct on site interviews." Morgan Cole is the outreach representative for Career Source Escarosa.
The job fair starts Friday morning at 9 at the WSRE building at Pensacola State. Cole says a record number of employers are participating in this year’s event, which is free and open to everyone. "It's a great networking opportunity to get everyone in one place at one time."
Cole says Career Source Escarosa has a number of employers they work with in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties that plan for these job fairs every year and report great success. Last year over 15 hundred job seekers attended the event. "We get a lot of great feedback from employers. Direct hires DO happen at the event."
And if you are looking for a job in the area, Cole says you should come prepared. "You should bringf lots of copies of your resume. And you should dress for the job you want, not the job you have."
Another element of this year’s job fair is it takes place just before the beginning of Florida Manufacturing Month. "So what we've done this year is added a Florida Manufacturing Corner". Cole says these will highlight the different manufacturing positions in the state.
The 7th Annual Community Job Fair will take place Friday from 9am until 1pm at the WSRE Building on the Pensacola campus of Pensacola State College. It’s free, open to the public and no appointment is necessary.
