John Macdonell

Information Technology Director

John began his career in radio at the age of 14 when he took over a weekend disc jockey shift at a local AM station. He continued working in commercial radio until he returned to the Pensacola area  and began working at WUWF. He has produced Acoustic Interlude for over 20 years and often has nationally known guest artists perform for the show from WUWF's Studio-A. In addition to supervising the stations computer network and internet services, he does on-air work during the station's membership drives.

Once again this year Acoustic Interlude traveled to the 30-A Songwriters Festival in South Walton County, Florida. We conducted 28 interview and performance sessions over the 3-day weekend. All the sessions were webcast live, some were also broadcast live on WUWF and all of them will be broadcast on Acoustic Interlude and archived on wuwf.org.
