A bill filed in the Florida House would regulate the sale and use of e-cigarettes in the state.   Florida State Representative Ron "Doc" Renuart, a republican representing the Florida 17th near Jacksonville, said if it's enacted the bill would, among other things make it illegal to sell e-cigarettes to anyone under the age of 18.  A similar bill has been introduced in the Florida Senate. 

Food stamps to be reduced

As of Friday, November 1st, more than three and a half million food stamp recipients in Florida will see a reduction in that benefit. The initial reduction in SNAP -- the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – comes with the end of the federal stimulus spending package. That was passed in 2009 to boost the economy during the Great Recession.

Dr. Judy Bense, President of the University of West Florida has announced a timetable for the arrival of Division II NCAA football at the school, saying the first game will be played in the fall of 2016. Bense says that fund raising will begin immediately for the construction of a practice field on the university campus and the hiring of a coach.

There will be angels in the sky next summer on Pensacola Beach. Commander Tom Frosch, commanding officer for the Blue Angels speaking outside the Blue Angels hanger at NAS Pensacola announced the return of the Blue Angels for the entire 2014 season of training and air shows.

Their first show will be on March 15 in California.  Looking ahead to next summer, the Blue Angels are set to go for the air show at Pensacola Beach on July 12.  Commander Frosch says the squad is excited about getting a chance to perform again.
